 When you sign up for Workplace Checking, we will make arrangements to meet with your employees at your business. We will provide a simple, three-step “Switch Kit” to help them move accounts to us easily. We can complete the new account switching process on site, saving your employees from making a trip to their existing bank.

Sign up for Direct Deposit and your employees will be eligible to have their monthly service fee waived. You’ll save time and money with this easy, secure and convenient way to manage your payroll. Employees will appreciate the additional value that Direct Deposit creates.

Waiving the fee. With a Direct Deposit of at least $1.00 per statement cycle to the Workplace Checking account, your employees can avoid the $7 monthly service fee.
Reducing the fee. Employees can earn a $2 convenience credit7 toward the monthly service fee by enrolling in Synovus Online Banking, Mobile Banking and paperless statements.

Important Information About Workplace Checking

The Workplace Checking account is only available to employees of participating business customers. All accounts are subject to approval.


1 The monthly service fee can be waived with at least $1.00 in Direct Deposits per statement cycle to the Workplace Checking account. A Direct Deposit is the electronic deposit of your salary, pension, Social Security or other regular monthly income by your employer or another agency. Transfers from one account to another and deposits made at a branch or ATM are not considered Direct Deposits.

2 Use of Mobile Banking requires your mobile service provider’s data and/or text plan, for which charges may apply.

3 Fees apply to same-day and overnight Bill Pay requests.

4 When you apply for a check card, credit card, or other credit product, we will base the approval on a review of your personal credit report and score.

5 We will refund the per transaction fee charged for the withdrawal at a non-Synovus Bank ATM up to three times per statement cycle. In addition, we will refund the ATM surcharge fee assessed by an ATM owner up to three times per statement cycle.
